MWA contributed to the master plan and provided all architectural design for the project. The plant’s original modernist administration building was renovated and seismically upgraded, both modernizing the interior and bringing building systems up to current codes. We also designed two new buildings at the site: a chemical feed building and water quality laboratory. Our designs build upon San Francisco’s tradition of monumental water treatment plant architecture.
