San Francisquito Creek Stormwater Pump Station

Palo Alto, CA

San Francisquito Creek was the only major creek in Palo Alto without a pump station. The project is designed to be compatible with its riparian setting and the neighborhood.

The new pump station is visible to pedestrians on the creek trail and residents of East Palo Alto across San Francisquito Creek. The wetland habitat at the mouth of the San Francisquito Creek remains a refuge for many native species, including shorebirds and anadromous fish like the steelhead trout. Project stakeholders include the Joint Power Authority of Palo Alto, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Santa Clara County and San Mateo County.
