Glide Health Services Clinic

San Francisco, CA

MWA provided architectural design services for the renovation of an existing clinic necessitated by an increase in the client population from 2,300 people making over 6,000 visits annually to more than 3,200 people for ten thousand visits per year.

Many of the patients are homeless, and afflicted by conditions that are a result of living difficult lives on the street. MWA designed a supportive environment that addresses the importance of effective environmental control systems, the interplay between natural and artificial light, and durable materials and finishes that look good and are easy to maintain. The clinic conveys a sense of tranquility and compassion.
